About this portrait
Built from the name Christ gave a fisherman — Rock, Apostle, Keys of Heaven, Martyr — this portrait honours Simon whom the Lord renamed Peter, first among the Twelve.
“Thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18).
